Man Turns Himself In for Robbery At Trump's Hollywood Star

The robbery happened at 9:50 p.m. Thursday near Trump's star near Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue.

HOLLYWOOD, CA -- One man robbed another in front of President Donald Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the suspect later surrendered to police, authorities said Saturday. The robbery happened at 9:50 p.m. Thursday near Trump's star near Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue, police said.

The suspect and victim got into a fight and the suspect used bodily force to take the victim's camera, police said.

The suspect was identified as Julio Gomez, 19, of Los Angeles, known to frequent the area of the Hollywood and Highland complex, police said.

Gomez surrendered about 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Los Angeles Police Department's Hollywood Station, according to sheriff's inmate records. His bail was $50,000.

He was booked on suspicion of robbery, police said.

Detectives were trying to recover the stolen camera, police said. The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office Monday.
