Robbery Crew ID'd In Shooting Death Of Illegal Hollywood Casino Security Guard: Police
Four men were arrested in connection to the shooting death of a security guard at an illegal casino in the Cahuenga Pass, the LAPD said.
HOLLYWOOD, CA — Four men have been arrested in connection with the killing of a security guard during an attempted robbery at an illegal gambling club in the Cahuenga Pass, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Steven Hans Dunkel, 23, of Glendora; Matthew Scott Riley, 29, of Panorama; Michael John Blankenship, 52, of Oxnard; and Rudy Javier Madrid, 26, of North Hollywood, were all arrested Monday. They're all being held in lieu of $2 million bail, except for Madrid, whose bail was set at $200,000, according to jail records.
The men were booked in connection to the shooting death of Anthony Rivas, 32, of North Hollywood, who was shot early in the morning on May 31 outside the Cahuenga Boulevard establishment, according to the LAPD.

The men, who left the club empty-handed, searched the premises for money, the LAPD said.
One of the men shot Rivas was a rifle multiple times. Both were wearing ski masks when they entered the club from the rear of the building, according to police.

KCAL reported the men are all in their 20s and are known as a robbery crew that hits underground casinos. Police said the four arrested include the getaway driver, two gunmen and another suspect that was sent inside to create a distraction that would allow the gunmen to enter.
Detectives found weapons, the getaway car and both guns used in the crime at the men's homes in Glendora, Oxnard, Los Angeles and the Valley, KCAL reported.
