Officer's Body Found At Hollywood Hills Elementary School

The death of a school district police sergeant​ was being investigated as a suicide.

HOLLYWOOD, CA —Los Angeles police on Monday were investigating the death of a law enforcement officer who was found dead at a Hollywood Hills elementary school Sunday afternoon.

Authorities were investigating the death as a possible suicide. The unidentified officer was a school district sergeant, whose body was found at about 4:15 p.m. at or near Valley View elementary school at 6921 Woodrow Wilson Drive, according to police.

Authorities released few details about the incident. It wasn't clear Sunday if the officer was a member of the LAUSD police force. A LAPD desk officer said the death is being investigated as a possible suicide, but the cause of death has not been revealed by authorities.

The officer's identity was withheld pending notification of kin.

Police on Sunday closed streets around the school for the investigation.
