Pedestrian Fatally Struck In Hollywood Crosswalk Identified

A Los Angeles man was killed in a hit-and-run while crossing Highland Avenue, police said.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — A pedestrian who died after being struck in a hit-and-run Sunday on Highland Avenue has been identified by authorities.

Elder Bardales, 57, of Los Angeles died at the scene of the collison, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.

Bardales was walking east across Highland near Fountain Avenue at around 10 p.m. Sunday when a vehicle headed south on Highland struck him, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police said the driver, whose name has not been released, fled the scene and was taken into custody shortly thereafter.
