Playmate of the Year Faces Backlash for Posting Cruel Photo of Woman in Gym Shower
Playmate of the Year 2015 Dani Mathers apologized for mockingly posting a photo of a naked woman in her gym shower to Snapchat.

Los Angeles, CA — An attempt to shame a woman in an LA Fitness shower backfired dramatically on Playboy’s 2015 Playmate of the Year, Dani Mathers.
The Tarzana native posted a picture of a naked woman at her gym’s shower on Snapchat with the caption, "If I can't unsee this then you can't either."
It didn’t take long for the internet community to question the famed beauty's inner beauty while LA Fitness quickly took action against Mathers.

LA Fitness banned the playmate from its gyms and reported the incident to the Los Angeles Police Department. Soon after, Mathers was suspended from her job on the "Heidi and Frank" radio show on L.A.'s KLOS, TMZ first reported.
An LA Fitness spokesperson told Patch that Mathers is not welcome at any of its gyms because of her "appalling" behavior.

“We have identified the person who took this photo as a member. Her behavior is appalling and puts every member at risk of losing their privacy. Her membership has been permanently revoked, at all of our health clubs, and law enforcement has been notified,” said Jill Greuling, executive vice president of operations at LA Fitness. "Our written rules are very clear: Cell phone usage and photography are prohibited in the locker rooms. This is not only our rule, but common decency.”
The LAPD, however, has not filed a police report because the woman whose privacy was violated has not come forward.
“We are aware of it, but there is no report as of now,” LAPD Officer Norma Eisenman told Patch. “We have to have a victim in order for there to be a crime. So we can not generate a report (until) a victim comes forward.”
It’s unclear if the woman featured in the picture is even aware of its existence.
In the wake of the firestorm, Mathers attempted an apology of sorts. The nude model went back onto Snapchat with a video, insisting she is not the kind of person who would ever body shame anyone and the photo was "accidentally" posted.
She did not say the caption she wrote was "accidentally" written.
“I just wanted to acknowledge a photo that I accidentally posted on Snapchat earlier today and let you guys know that that was absolutely wrong, and not what I meant to do. I have chosen to do what I do for a living because I love the female body and I know that body shaming is wrong and that’s not what I’m about, that’s not the type of person that I am,” said Mathis.
“That photo was taken to be a personal conversation with a girlfriend, and because I am new to Snapchat, I really didn’t realize that I had posted it and that was a huge mistake. I know that I have upset a lot of people out there, but please, please believe me when I say that this is not the type of person I am. I have never done this before. I will never do this again.”
Mathers, who appeared in films, including “Neighbors,” and has had a recurring role on the CBS soap opera “The Bold and the Beautiful” since 2005, isn’t getting a lot of sympathy on social media.
“Dani Mathers: If your 'apology' includes 'I only meant to send it to one person, not everyone,' you don't understand what you did wrong,” tweeted Melissa A. Fabello.
"No wonder, so many people suffer from eating disorders and anxiety (including myself), when humans like #danimathers still exist," tweeted LA COUR.

So #danimathers puts herself out there as form of self empowerment, but rips the ownership away from another woman and her body. Disgusting.
