Police Chase Ends In Sunset Boulevard Standoff
Police surrounded a suspect car thief in an standoff on Sunset Boulevard.
HOLLYWOOD, CA — A suspected car thief led police on a chase through Hollywood, leading to a standoff with police on Sunset Boulevard Friday morning that ended with his arrest.
The man allegedly stole a car from a dealership in Hollywood, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Officers were sent to the dealership in the 7300 block of West Sunset Boulevard around 11 a.m. on a report of a man causing a disturbance, Los Angeles police said.
Officers arrived in time to see a silver Honda with paper dealer plates being driven at high speed on Sunset Boulevard. They chased the car to a parking lot at Sunset Boulevard and Stanley Avenue, where the suspect stopped the car and refused to come out, police said.

Officers blocked the vehicle in and a standoff ensued, but the suspect was taken into custody about noon.
Traffic was being routed away from the area.
