PRISM Award Nominees Named For Realistic TV Portrayals Of Substance Abuse, Mental Health Issues

LOS ANGELES, CA -- "Mom,'' "Mr. Robot,'' "Blue Bloods'' and "The Simpsons'' were among the television shows earning nominations today for the 20th annual PRISM Awards, which honor realistic portrayals of substance abuse
disorders, mental health issues and their treatments.

"When it comes to taking on substance use and mental health concerns, PRISM-recognized shows are at the core of communicating life-saving information,'' said John Landgraf, CEO of FX Networks and chairman of the PRISM Honorary Committee.

CBS' "Mom'' was nominated in the comedy single episode category, along with BET's "Real Husbands of Hollywood,'' Fox's "The Simpsons'' and Amazon's "Transparent.''

Comedy multi-episode nominations went to "Please Like Me,'' "Shameless'' and "You're the Worst.''

Nominated in the drama multi-episode category were "Mr. Robot,'' "UnREAL,'' "Being Mary Jane,'' "Blue Bloods''
and "NCIS.''

Nominations for drama single episode went to "Chicago Fire'' and "Elementary.''

Feature film nominations went to "Danny Collins,'' "Danny Says,'' "Pawn Sacrifice,'' "The Road Within'' and "The Surface.''

The awards will be presented Sept. 30 at the Skirball Cultural Center.

Music and journalism nominations will be announced later.
