If you currently have a mortgage, the taxes should be paid automatically by your mortgage holder if you have taxes and insurance included in your payment. If your home is paid off, your taxes are due in two installments: Nov. 1, 2016 and Feb. 1, 2017. You also have the option of paying the entire bill at once on Nov. 1. If you miss the deadline, there's a small grace period. The bill is considered delinquent if not paid by Dec. 10. At that point, a 10 percent penalty kicks in.
