St. Barnabas Senior Center (SBSS) is hosting a “Card-a-Thon” today at Bethany Towers from 1-3 pm. Local seniors will come together to create personalized greeting cards for homebound seniors.
Joyce Henderson, who is coordinating the Card-a-Thon, says the project provides “an opportunity for talented seniors to share their creativity and good wishes, bringing a little extra love to our community’s most vulnerable older adults.”
Last week, a Card-a-Thon was held at St. Barnabas Mid-City Senior Center on South Carondelet Street.

The handmade cards will be presented to homebound seniors by a team of SBSS volunteers, delivering Thanksgiving meals on Nov. 28. For many of the volunteers, delivering Thanksgiving meals has become a new annual tradition. This year, an extra special touch will be added with the personalized greeting cards.
More than 50,000 meals are provided to Los Angeles’ vulnerable seniors each year through SBSS’ Home Delivered Meals Program. This is one of a continuum of comprehensive programs provided by SBSS to empower older adults to live well, feel well and age well.
