LOS ANGELES, CA — If a famous movie star struggles to navigate the travails of digital dating, is there hope for any of us? Actress Sharon Stone had to take to Twitter on Monday to get the dating app Bumble to give her another chance at love after she was booted from Bumble for apparently being too good to be true.

The 61-year-old silver screen seductress — who shot to fame for her roles in “Casino” and “Basic Instinct” — tweeted, “I went on the @bumble dating sight (sic) and they closed my account. Some users reported that it couldn’t possibly be me! Hey @bumble, is being me exclusionary?” she tweeted. “Don’t shut me out of the hive.”

And like any queen bee, the twice-married actress quickly got her wish. Bumble reinstated her with a playful mea culpa.

“AHA! @sharonstone, we at @bumble found your account, unblocked you, and ensured this won't happen again,” a company official tweeted. “You can get back to Bumbling! Thanks for bearing with us and hope you find your honey.”

The company insists it wasn’t a PR stunt. Stone is — just like everyone else — testing the digital dating scene, according to officials.
