Slew Of Celebrities Escape Sexual Assault Charges
The LA District Attorney's office announced it will not file sexual assault charges against numerous artists including Marilyn Manson.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Allegations of sexual abuse against s slew of well-known artists, including singer Marilyn Manson, won't lead to charges, the Los Angeles District Attorney's office announced late Friday. The allegations against Manson, "Girls" writer Murray Miller, rapper/fashion designer Jabari Shelton, commonly known as ASAP Bari, and Beverly Hills celebrity fitness trainer Michael Torchia either were past the statute of limitations or lacked enough evidence to prosecute, authorities said.
According to the District Attorney's Office, a task force assigned to review high-profile sex-assault cases reviewed an allegation of abuse against Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner. The allegations date back to 2011, and the statute of limitations for the alleged offense has expire, prosecutors said. They also cited an"absence of corroboration."
Miller was also accused of sex abuse dating to 2011. In his case, the statute of limitations had not expired, but prosecutors determined that the case against him had "inconsistencies which cannot be overcome" in the evidence.

Prosecutors declined to file any charges against Shelton because his alleged victim said she "did not want to proceed with the criminal case," according to the District Attorney's Office.
Charges were also declined against Torchia, with prosecutors citing insufficient evidence. The task force was formed last year after a series of high-profile rape and sexual abuse allegations rocked the entertainment industry. So far, few of the allegations publicly lobbed at celebrities and power brokers in the entertainment industry have resulted in prosecutions.
