But his brushes with the law, his drug abuse, and his tabloid affair with the Hollywood Madame Heidi Fleiss marked a series of downturns in his career. He was convicted of domestic violence against Fleiss, in 2003. Two years later, he was sentenced to seven months in jail for repeatedly failing drug tests while on probation.

Sizemore pleaded no contest to two charges of domestic abuse in 2017 for assaulting another girlfriend, receiving 36 months of summary probation.

His other film roles include "Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man," "Passenger 57," "True Romance," "Strange Days" and "Heat" -- all in the 1990s -- and "Red Planet" (2000).

Sizemore also voiced a character in the popular video game "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City."

Though he landed fewer leading roles following his highly publicized arrests and struggles with addiction, Sizemore continued to be a prolific actor up until his hospitalization. He acted in more than a dozen films and television shows slated for release in 2023 and 2024.
