Water Main Break Causes Mudslide in Hollywood Hills
Two homes were damaged and 40 residents were left without water service.

A six-inch water main break in the Hollywood Hills today has left approximately 40 residents without any water service and at least two homes damaged due to a mudslide of about 8 feet.
The water main break in the 8500 block of Appian Way occurred at about 1:30 a.m., according to Los Angeles Department of Water and Power spokeswoman Amanda Parsons. An approximate time of full restoration was not immediately known.
The break caused approximately 8 feet of mud to slide against two homes, said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
