• Agency Seeks Hearing on Fire Mitigation Fees Sought from Property Owners (mynewsla.com) — Homeland property owners are among 200 across Riverside County who could see unpaid weed-abatement and fire mitigation costs added as tax liens if supervisors approve them at a June 23 hearing. The county fire department says some parcels in Homeland and nearby communities had hazards cleared after owners failed to act, and those owners can still challenge the charges at the upcoming hearing. 
• EOD Company Takes Top Honors in All-Army Competition (militaryspot.com) — A Homeland native, Staff Sgt. Justin Bowman, led his team to first place in the U.S. Army’s 2026 Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team of the Year competition. Bowman, based at Fort Stewart, Georgia, also earned special recognition for an exceptionally fast fitness assessment, highlighting how local talent is excelling on a national military stage.
