About 450 gallons of diesel spilled, prompting the city's Hazardous Materials Team to deploy absorbent booms as a precaution to protect the harbor's water quality.

The Oilers host Foothill on Friday as part of a busy Elite 8 tournament week that also features top-ranked Newport Harbor and several other local powers.

ā¢ Smashing Pumpkins Unearth 'Mellon Collie,' 'Gish' Rarities At Tour Opener (spinmagazine.com) ā Smashing Pumpkins' new tour, packed with rare songs from "Mellon Collie" and "Gish," will include a stop at the Darker Waves festival in Huntington Beach alongside acts like Morrissey and Simple Minds. After opening in Ohio, the tour runs through November and hits Los Angeles before bringing this nostalgia-heavy setlist to the local beachfront festival crowd.
