• Silver Alert Activated for 75-Year-Old Man Last Seen in Huntington Beach (mynewsla.com) — A Silver Alert is active after 75-year-old Preston Kirbysmith went missing Friday morning near Liberty Drive and Beach Boulevard in Huntington Beach, and he may be driving a gray 2000 Chevrolet Silverado. Huntington Beach residents are urged to watch for his vehicle and call 911 with any information to help safely locate him.

• Orange County restaurants shut down by health inspectors (Sept. 10-17) (ocregister.com) — Orange County health inspectors temporarily closed several eateries last week, including Woody's Diner on Adams Avenue and San Sivar on Adams Avenue in Huntington Beach, both for health violations. San Sivar has since been cleared to reopen, while the list highlights other closures and reopenings across nearby cities that locals may frequent.

• Noah Fifita sets Arizona Wildcats career passing yards record, passing Nick Foles' mark (arizonasports.com) — A Huntington Beach native, quarterback Noah Fifita, just became the Arizona Wildcats' all-time leader in career passing yards, surpassing Nick Foles while also holding the school touchdown record. The former Servite High standout has stayed loyal through coaching changes, stacking multiple 3,000-yard seasons and leading Arizona back to bowl contention with consistently high-powered performances.
