• BNOAA reports rare turtle nesting on Seal Beach shore (sunnews.org) — A rare olive ridley sea turtle has nested near Seal Beach, and another turtle was seen just south by the Huntington Beach Pier, prompting NOAA and local agencies to fence and monitor both sites. Huntington Beach lifeguards and city crews are helping protect the federally protected nests, and residents are urged to avoid the fenced areas and report any turtle sightings to NOAA's hotline.
   

• Sea Turtles Make History By Laying Eggs On The West Coast (thedodo.com) — Huntington Beach residents just witnessed a historic first: two endangered olive ridley sea turtles nesting on local beaches, including near the pier, in the first documented natural sea turtle nesting on the U.S. West Coast. Conservation teams have fenced off the nests and urge locals to keep distance, avoid lights, and protect the federally protected eggs over the next 45–60 days.
