Local law enforcement credit the Imperial Valleyās shared Hispanic identity while still urging residents to report suspicious or bias-motivated behavior and use hotlines like 211 or 911 to help keep the community safe.

Public Input Sought On Proposed Transportation Projects Across Southern California (patch.com) ā Imperial County residents now have a chance to weigh in on nearly $48.5 billion in proposed Southern California transportation projects that include our county. Through August 4, SCAG is taking public comments on highway, transit, bike, and pedestrian improvements that will shape long-term mobility and congestion across Imperial and neighboring counties.

IID urges residents to prepare ahead of summer monsoon storm season (kesq.com) ā Imperial County residents are being urged by the Imperial Irrigation District to get ready now for summer monsoon storms that could bring flooding, high winds, and power outages through early September. IID is asking customers to build emergency kits, update their contact information for outage alerts, and stay clear of downed lines and flooded roads while monitoring official channels for safety updates.

Recalls hit a record high this year, in part due to data center recall efforts (ballotpedia.org) ā A nationwide surge in recall efforts includes a local push targeting Imperial Countyās Board of Supervisors chair over a vote tied to a proposed data center project.
