2 Apparently Random Stabbings Reported Near Imperial Beach: Police

Both victims told police they weren't sure who stabbed them.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Two men showed up at a South Bay hospital Thursday night complaining of being stabbed in apparently random attacks in the Ocean Crest area, police said.

According to San Diego police Officer Robert Heims, the first victim came into the hospital at about 8:40 p.m. with a stab wound to his left side and another to his left arm. The 30-year-old man told police he was at 600 Hollister Street when he "felt himself get stabbed."

"He does not have any suspect information and said he does not know what happened," Heims said.

A short time later, Heims said a 29-year-old man came into the same hospital with two stab wounds: one to the lower left chest area and one to his left forearm. The victim told police he was somewhere near the Beyer trolley station when he got stabbed.

"He does not have any suspect information and said he does not know exactly what happened," Heims said.

Both victims' injuries were non- life-threatening, the officer said.

The stabbings are being investigated by San Diego Police Southern Division detectives.
