Arrest Made in Murder of 92-Year-Old National City Woman
The suspect, a San Diego resident, was apprehended Nov. 10.

SAN DIEGO -- National City Police detectives have arrested a San Diego man for the murder of a 92-year-old woman who was found dead inside her apartment.
Police say they took into custody Peter Thao of San Diego around 8:30 am on Nov. 10. He's accused of killing 92-year-old Maria Rivera around 6 am on Oct. 22 and burglarizing her apartment on the 1100 block of D Avenue.
Thao, who is listed as a 26-year-old Asian male adult, 5’4” tall, weighing 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, was arrested without incident outside of his residence on Aries Road in San Diego and will be booked into County Jail on murder charges.

The National City Police Department did not comment on a possible motive, but it did state that it does not believe there are any other outstanding suspects.
"This investigation is still active and ongoing," the National City Police Department said in a statement to Patch. "At this time, we will not be able to comment on what evidence linked Peter Thao to the murder of Ms. Rivera."
