IB Yappy NEEDS your support at the July 20th City Council Meeting!
IB Yappy is seeking support for the July 20th City Council meeting, where the ordinance for the trial dog park on the beach will be read.

Hello IB Yappers,
Well the time has come – we are SOOOO close to obtaining a six-month trial for a leash-free dog park in IB. With numerous areas available and discussed with the city, the city decided to go with a six-month trial on the beach between Palm and Carnation Avenues. If all goes according to plan, we should have our leash-free TRIAL area by September/October 2011.
Last week however, a notice of the public ordinance was sent out to homeowners in the area. Unfortunately, we've received confirmation that there will be homeowners attending the next City Council meeting on JULY 20th to protest the six-month trial on the beach. You can also see their petition and read some letters in the City Council Agenda Packet attached here.

We are therefore requesting that any LOCAL, ARTICULATE supporters attend the meeting to speak about how a leash-free dog area would benefit you and your pooch! You could also comment on and address the concerns raised in the agenda packet. And remember, this is a trial to see how a leash-free area would work in IB - it is not set in stone!!
And even if you don’t want to speak, you should just show up to the meeting – there’s strength in numbers!  We want to fill the City Council Chambers with SUPPORTIVE bodies and let them know we’re serious about getting a safe, friendly and respectful dog park in IB and need to do so with this trial!
