Who you are and what you are being

Ignoring voices in your head

Promise, doubt, pride and dread

Slipping into 21, You see it all clearer

Than a decade ago

But you don’t know

What to pursue

The boot or shoe or sandal fits

Not too snuggly or to loose

Thinking now you know the truth

But do you?

Does life begin at 40

Or is it the end

Pretend?

Amend?

Again?

When?

At 50 or at 85?  Still alive?

Or shiriveled up and wasted away

What did you say?

Work or play?

Another day?

No way!  Way!
