Rockin Roll, Rockin Chair and Teddy Bear
Just a little humor at turning 65 this year. Last year I was so hyped up at 64, this year, not so much. HA HA
Bellowing in my ears
Sounds of yesterday
Satisfaction?” I
think it was there
Somewhere in my memory

My bell bottoms, like cher
Long hair and tamborines
Hang ten and four on the floor
Strobe lights flashing off and on
To sounds of the Doors
As my legs no longer walk
I’m led by a cane
They’re telling me to invest
Do you think it’s a test?
They say I can mellow out
They tell me time is here
All sizes and colors
A Birthday Rockin Chair
Well, yes, I may have
reached the age
To tuck away the mold
But the songs that I am listening to
They’re still solid gold
A rockin’ chair will tip over
And land me in the clover
Over and over
I’m still at my prime
I need to wipe the tear
And cover up the wrinkles
And hold someone near
I don’t need a man, who’ll
Die or walk away
When I turn 65, if I am to survive
I need a very special teddy bear
To wake up to every day
