This poem is dedicated to a friend and role model of my son, Scott and also a very good friend of many of the young men and women in Imperial Beach.

This is dedicated to Bobby Gomez. Mar Vista Class of 1991 and to his family and many friends in Imperial Beach and everywhere. I didn’t know Bobby as well as many of you but I know he was loved by so many.

Friendship always there
Sit down with me and talk awhile
We were going to do lunch someday
We hugged and said good bye
My life took me far away
But someday soon we’ll try
To be friends again
I read on facebook you were gone
Was it true?
It couldn’t be
Was it you?
I start to cry
But then I see your sunshine smile
Waving goodbye
