The Art Kids of San Diego County Take Home Ribbons From Women's Club Art Festival

The article contains the winners of the annual Women's Club art festival. This year's theme was, "The Mardi Gras."

The theme was, "The Mardi Gras," for this year's annual Women's Club art festival and The Art Kids of San Diego County took home five first place ribbons and two second place ribbons. 

Seven out of nine entries won ribbons.

Taking home first place honors were 12-year-old Mark-Yves Gaunin for his painting on canvas of the Comedy and Drama masks, 13-year-old Mia Doudera for her painting on canvas of a mask, 14-year-old Austin Hoffman for his entry of a sculpted and painted Mardi Gras mask, 21-year-old Eddy Berducido with his painting, "The Tree of Life," and Adult artist Lisa Doudera with her creation of a sculpted and decorated Mardi Gras mask.

Taking home second place honors were 14-year-old Anais Gaunin with her painting on canvas of Mardi Gras masks and 18-year-old Ines Monic Nefzi for her painting on canvas of a Mardi Gras clown.

This is the fourth year that the art kids have participated in this annual event. Each year the paintings get better and better. Next year we will be trying for best in show and then going to the state level competition.
