What Were They Thinking? An Unsafe Sidewalk or New Skateboard Ramps??
Dangerous problems have emerged on Seacoast Drive for pedestrians after recent road work.
Many residents of Imperial Beach are asking themselves what were they thinking when they supposedly fixed the sidewalks in Imperial Beach. One may see that the city is just asking to get sued by those who trip over the new construction. It is unsafe, and a hazard to the pedestrian who is walking down the sidewalk on Seacoast Drive.
The construction is just begging for skateboarders to use the newly built side walks as skate ramps. One such ramp allows the skateboarder to jump off the sidewalk and into a blind alley because one can't see.
A skater could jump right into a car or jump and get hit by a car as the driver has no idea that there is anyone coming. Owner Mike Bibbey has already written a letter about the dangerous condition in front of his property.

Another great example of a hazard is in front of . There is now a place for water to collect or for pedestrians to trip over the man made ledge. I am sure when the water collects it will be great for the local birds to swim in, but it is dangerous for the locals to use as they will trip over the ledge formed by the concrete curb.
Is the city going to do nothing to fix this problem because they act as though it does not exist?

May they need to get off their chair and take a stroll down Seacoast Drive just to see what they have approved?
