Do we truly have fair election campaigns in Imperial Beach?

Proper And fair practices for upcoming Mayor Elections

Tuesday September 23, 2014

Driving around the streets of Imperial Beach I have notice Banners for Jim Janney hanging from telephone poles and other public venues that are not supposed to be used. Is there now a double standard for the future ex-mayor of Imperial Beach?

While in the work force and even now if I had shown up to a meeting intoxicated I would have been immediately fired. Yet, when Janney has shown up at the city council meeting he has on occasion been been intoxicated. Is this another double standard that allows our public officer to make his own rules?

It is no secret that the future ex-mayor and I have no love loss for one another. While, “The Arts of San Diego County,” were illegally forbidden to use any public parks in Imperial Beach, the Mayor sat on his rump and did nothing. After all the service extended to the city much of the time free. Nothing was done by his dishonor the Mayor. It truly showed me that he was worthless as a proponent for a fair community.

We are not here to serve him but rather he is our sadly elected servant. He should be Imperial Beach’s head cheerleader leading and setting an example for the rest of us to follow. How many times has he been to the farmer’s market? He rarely supports any activities throughout the community and he should be the first one to be there and the last to leave.

If there was an elbow bending contest at the local pub he would be there is a second. Most know about his relationship with alcohol and yet nothing is said to our supposed head man of this community. Are there no rules for this person? Does he make up his own rules and yet denies the rights for others? He is supposed to be for the people and not so much for himself. When confronted he lies or just walks away. He makes statements that are negative for our community and when confronted he says he never said that.

It would be my suggestion that we clean house and place a man in the Mayor’s seat who cares about the integrity of our community and its public offices.
