Free Sandcastle Building Workshops June 4 & June 18

Join us on the sand to learn the tricks and tips of building great sand castles - no age limits

The Sun & Sea Festival Committee is conducting free training practices in June to show you the tips and tricks of building a good sandcastle. The workshops will be held on the sand on June 4 at 3 p.m. and June 18 at 3 p.m. located south of Carnation Ave. (between the jetties). This is a great family or group activity.

No RSVP is required but we suggest that you come prepared. Bring the following items: A spade shovel, two 5-gal. buckets, and anything you have at home that can be used as carving tools. For example: spoons, knives, small garden shovels, putty knives, masonry trowels, clay carving tools. Also bring sun screen, a beach towel and drinking water.

Once you learn how to build a great sandcastle. You can put together a team and compete in the sandcastle competition -- there are two amateur categories. Family/Business teams or Kids n'Kastles (ages 12 and under)
