Imperial Beach Man ID'd as Skyline Shooting Victim
The 28-year-old was fatally shot Saturday as he stood at the intersection of Brookhaven Road and Sears Avenue, San Diego police said.

SAN DIEGO, CA: Authorities released the name Wednesday of a 28-year-old Imperial Beach man killed in a weekend shooting at a Skyline-area intersection.
Victor Vega was standing at Brookhaven Road and Sears Avenue about 10 p.m. Saturday when a dark-colored sedan pulled up beside him and someone inside opened fire with a pistol for unknown reasons, according to San Diego police. The driver then sped off to the east.
Vega died at the scene from two gunshot wounds to his upper body, Lt. Manny Del Toro said.

Detectives suspect that the victim and possibly the shooter may have been at a nearby house party prior to the shooting, the lieutenant said. It was unclear how many people were in the vehicle at the time of the slaying.
Police have identified no suspects in the case.
