Well... it's been WAY too long but I am back and ready to show you how to create a song using some free Sony Software and Loops.
You'll need 2 things to start.
AcidXpress Software - available here https://www.sugarsync.com/pf/D9684113_69721474_6092249
Loops - also known as .wav files available here https://www.sugarsync.com/pf/D9684113_69721474_6092241
Download and install the AcidXpress software (be patient, my install seemed to freeze but it finished after about 10 min.) Then unzip the Best_of_2008packs.zip file and put it into an easily remembered location. Those are your loops/.wav files that you'll be accessing.
You can also get more information and documentation at http://www.acidplanet.com/downloads/xpress/
Once you have them finished you can startup the AcidXpress software. When you do, you'll be required to register with Sony. Of course you don't have to give them your personal info. Once that is finished and you start the software, you'll see The Main Interface ( picture )
Once you have it open you'll notice some different areas. For now, we'll focus on the left side "Explorer" window. The arrow shows my folder containing my .wav files that I expanded ( I expanded mine on the desktop for ease of use ) you may need to expand the plus sign next to your C: drive and drill down to your folder location.
see Interface 2 ( picture )
Once you locate the folder with your .wavs and drill down in to the folders containing the .wav files, the right hand side will populate with the files. NOTE: before you click on the files on the right side, make sure your headphones, speakers etc. are at a normal level. The first time I did this, I didn't know that clicking them played a sample and almost had a heart attack!
see Interface 3 ( picture )
That's all the time I have for today... but you can listen to some of the choices you have here. Play around and get familiar with the interface.
