Man Taken Into Custody After Overnight Standoff In South Bay
A man was taken into custody Monday around four hours after a SWAT team responded to a residence in National City, police said.

NATIONAL CITY, CA – A man was taken into custody Monday around four hours after a SWAT team responded to a residence in National City, police said.
Officers responded at about 9 p.m. Sunday to a house in the 1800 block of D Avenue and found a man had barricaded himself inside, according to National City Police.
Details on what prompted police to respond to the house were not immediately available.

A large perimeter was established and some residents nearby were evacuated as a SWAT team attempted to convince the man to surrender, NBC7 reported.
Around 1 a.m., the unidentified man surrendered and was taken into custody without incident, police said.
