You are invited to worship this Sunday
at the Imperial Beach United Methodist Church

or
10:30am for worship with Holy Communion on 1st Sunday of the Month.
(and during the 10:30am worship there is child care provided)
This Sunday, we will reflect on the need to be humble in our lives and in our prayers.
Often today the whole "religious" community is looked down upon and avoided by many in society because how some churches have become places of judgement and condemnation of others. And when society looks closer at those churches there seems to be a prevailing notion of "do as I say, but not as I do." This has become a major turn off to many in today's society.
But Jesus taught something radically different than what some churches practice. Rather than judging others, Jesus taught people to be humble.
This Sunday we will consider Jesus' parable about the very religious man and the known sinner who went to the temple to pray. And "spoiler alert", it was the known sinner who walked away with Jesus' praise, not the religious guy.
I look forward to seeing you this Sunday.
Be sure to come up to me and say "hello" ... I'll be the one in the white robe!
Have a great weekend!
