Pair of Thieves Stole Cash Register at South Bay Drive-In Theatre

SAN DIEGO, CA -- San Diego police sought Monday a pair of robbers who assaulted an employee at the South Bay Drive-In Theatre in the Nestor area and got away with the cash register.

A man and a woman walked up to the admissions worker at the theater on Coronado Avenue near Hollister Street around 8:45 p.m. Sunday and asked her if they could enter without a vehicle, San Diego police Officer Ben Newton said.

The female suspect punched the employee as she stepped out of the booth while the male suspect ripped out the cash register, Newton said.

The pair of robbers fled in an unknown direction.

The female suspect was described as white, in her 20s, 5 feet 3 and 130 pounds. She was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black sunglasses. The male suspect was Hispanic and in his 30s, about 5 feet 5 and 180 pounds.

He had on a green shirt and khaki pants.
