• Coronado Bridge is getting its anti-suicide barrier. Next could be $400M in structural upgrades. (sandiegouniontribune.com) — Imperial Beach drivers are central to a 23-mile detour route that's expected to be used less often once a new suicide barrier goes up on the Coronado Bridge starting this fall. State officials are also planning $350–$450 million in seismic and ship-collision safety upgrades to keep this critical Navy and commuter link reliable for decades.
