• Woman pleads not guilty to stealing $97K from Imperial Beach Little League (nbcsandiego.com) — Imperial Beach Little League leaders say the community's support kept kids playing after prosecutors charged the league's former treasurer with allegedly taking nearly $100,000, to which she has pleaded not guilty. Donations from four local businesses helped maintain fields and equipment so about 300 young players could finish what many called one of their best seasons, despite the financial turmoil. 
• Chula Vista, Imperial Beach team up on homelessness with shelter agreement (sandiegouniontribune.com) — Imperial Beach has approved a two-year deal to place some unhoused residents in Chula Vista's Village at Otay bridge shelter, paying per-night costs and rental subsidies. City officials expect only a few residents to qualify each year, but say the partnership offers case management, housing navigation, and up to 24 months of rental help funded through Imperial Beach's Community Benefit Fund.
