Redbox Announces 2011 Top Rented Movies

Tallied only by kiosk rentals, America's choice is presented by Redbox in its 2011 Top -rented Movies of 2011.

Grab some popcorn and take a comfortable seat on the couch. There is plenty of amusement for home movie viewers with Redbox's 2011 Movie Awards. Celebrating its 1.5 billionth movie rental this year, Redbox told what movies its customers across America brought home the most to watch in 2011. From action to horror, here are the winning titles and actors that entertained people at home.

A top pick at the kiosk, the Most Rented Movie of the Year went to "Just Go With It" starring Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler.

Adventure Most-Rented Action Movie is "The Green Hornet" with Seth Rogen, Cameron Diaz and Christoph Waltz.

Looking for a laugh viewers picked "Just Go With It" as the Most-Rented Comedy Movie.

"The Tourist" made the grade as the Most-Rented Drama Movie with dynamic duet of Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp.

Charming kids of all ages "Rango" came in first as the Most-Rented Family Movie of 2011 with Johnny Depp as the chameleon sheriff that finds himself way out of his terrarium.

Sending chills up the spine, "Insidious" took viewers on a ride to the supernatural as the Most-Rented Horror Movie of the year.

Polling more than 11,500 kiosk customers, Redbox fans picked their favorite take home movies in several specialized award categories.

Looking for action, Autobots and Decepticons Made Total Destruction Totally Exciting in "Transformers: Dark of the Moon."

Though "Rango" made the top rentals, viewers chose "Despicable Me" as the Most Fun Movie of the Year as three little girls thwart the efforts of Gru and his minions to steal the moon.

Redbox's Kicking Butt Award went to Angelina Jolie in her action-packed espionage thriller "Salt."

America's Most-Loved Comedy Couple Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston topped the vote in "Just Go With It."

Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph made the Dynamic Duo award with their performances as best friends in "Bridesmaids."

Jennifer Aniston won the Best at being Bad in the star-studded movie "Horrible Bosses."

Who were the most rented actors in 2011?

Natalie Portman danced her way as the Most-Rented Actress with "Black Swan," No Strings Attached" and "Thor" watched in millions of homes across America.

Ranking top as the Most-Rented Actor is Owen Wilson, with fan favorites "Little Fockers," "How Do You Know" and "Cars 2."

In Redbox's first Lifetime Achievement Award, the winner goes to the star of "Grown Ups," "Zookeeper" and "The Dilemma." With the fastest movie in Redbox history to reach one million rentals, his hit comedy "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" put Kevin James in a class of his own with record-breaking rentals for years.
