SD Police Seek Public's Help Identifying A Fatal Hit & Run Victim

Sd police released surveillance footage Tuesday of a woman who later died in a hit and run incident, hoping that someone could identify her.

SAN YSIDRO, CA — The San Diego Police Department released surveillance footage of a woman walking along a sidewalk in San Ysidro. Police sought the public's help in identifying the woman, who was killed while crossing the street.

The woman was struck by an SUV while crossing the street in a San Ysidro neighborhood on Oct. 15. She did not survive her injuries and authorities were unable to identify her, police said.

Police described the woman as a "Hispanic female in her 40’s, with a number of tattoos, including 'Martin' on the upper mid-chest 'Mi Madre Maria' on the upper left breast."

Anyone with information about the incident was asked to call the San Diego Police Department Traffic Division at 858-495-7800 or email Detective Lewak at klewak@pd.sandiego.gov.
