Skate Park to Reopen Next Week

The skate park at the Imperial Beach Sports Park and Recreation Center is expected to reopen Feb. 13, said Peter Lau with the city's Public Works Department.

The project cost about $151,000, began last October and was  to take a month to complete.

There was a list of items the city wanted to see Harris Steel Fence Company take care of before reopening the park. Grass is being replanted today. Other issues with irrigation and painting a portion of the fence also came up.

"We just wanted to make sure everything was perfect, well not perfect but close to it, before we opened it back up to the public," he said.
