USD's MBA Ranks No. 28 In U.S., No. 59 Worldwide: Financial Times

The University of San Diego’s business administration master’s program ranks 59th in the world and 28th best in the U.S., according to annual rankings published today by the London-based Financial Times.

The school’s MBA program -- the only one in San Diego to appear in the top 100 -- rose several notches from last year, when the school made its debut in the list.

“It is gratifying to see the success of our students and alumni, the dedication of our faculty and staff and the engagement of our business community recognized by Financial Times for the second year in a row,’’ said Jaime Alonso Gomez, dean of the USD School of Business.

“We are particularly proud of our improved standings, which underscore our commitment to student services and career placement,’’ he said.

Only five California schools ranked ahead of USD -- Stanford, UC Berkeley, UCLA, USC and UC Irvine.

The USD MBA program received high marks for value for the money, 56th; international student experiences, 32nd; and career placement success, 20th.

Financial Times compiles the rankings by using weighted criteria like
salary, salary increments, faculty research, placement and international mobility. It also assesses programs on international and gender diversity of faculty and students.
