This film picks up as Logan aka Wolverine comes into contact with his oldest nemesis Creed aka Sabretooth. Even though the years have past it becomes quite clear that the hostilities between them have not lessened the anger.

The history is revealed as the Black Panther makes an appearance in their story. After killing two guards, Black Panther makes a promise to make him pay but Sabretooth is very powerful. Storm must take Logan to save her man and in doing so tells them the story of Creed.

Yet there is more, Panther and Storm begin to tell Logan the story of the evolution of man. There is a connection between the lands of Africa and the mysterious Romulus and now Logan must ask the X-Men for help and in particular Emma and Scott.

But it’s all so very far from over!

FINAL WORD: I have been a victim of the blockbuster Hollywood version of the X-Men and Wolverine in particular. These animated stories from the graphic novels are so much more interesting and thrilling to watch.

There are so many layers to each of the characters that the viewer isn’t getting one flat storyline but deep and dark multi-story lines that tell me more about these characters than I would have ever thought possible.

First and foremost is what an angry big pup Wolverine really is. He is gruff, sarcastic and has no problem using his shiny claws. Matching him up with Sabretooth puts a new meaning to the term dog fighting. I can’t wait to see what happens next…you listening Shout!?

TUBS OF POPCORN: I give WOLVERINE VERSUS SABRETOOTH four tubs of popcorn out of five. As I watch more and more of the Shout! Factory and Marvel Knights collection I am convinced I missed out on a childhood. The characters are so marvelously in depth with twists and turns that keep the action fast paced.

From writer/producer Jeph Loeb and legendary artist Simone Lianchi comes a DVD includes a brand new retrospective and featurette with interviews. In the 66 minutes you’ll probably throw something at the screen like I did when it is all over – I seriously wanted to know more!

In the end – the world’s oldest and deadliest grudge match comes to an end!
