• Defunct Indio Mall redevelopment advances as Planning Commission approves three new drive-through sites (theindiopost.com) — Indio’s long-struggling mall site is a step closer to revival after the Planning Commission unanimously backed Phase 2 of the Grand Marketplace project, including three new drive-through buildings along Highway 111. The recommendation now heads to City Council, while developers and city officials negotiate how to handle aging palm trees so the corridor looks attractive and consistent from day one.
