• Man sentenced to life for triple stabbing in Amador County (kcra.com) — A man who carried out a deadly triple stabbing in Ione in October 2023 has been sentenced to life in prison without parole, bringing some closure to victims and neighbors. Prosecutors say he randomly broke into three homes, killing 63-year-old Lori Owens and seriously injuring two others, and a judge called his actions deliberate and evil while stressing community safety.
