• Sonoma County launches free curbside chipper program for 2026 wildfire season (kalw.org) — Kenwood property owners in unincorporated areas can again use Sonoma County’s free curbside chipper service to clear vegetation and create defensible space before wildfire season. The program offers up to two hours of chipping per visit, with a second visit preapproved and appointments booked first-come, first-served across communities from Cloverdale to Sonoma, Jenner and Kenwood. 
• Connecting with creation on Sacred Ground (umnews.org) — Kenwood’s Sugarloaf Ridge State Park is one of the featured stops on the Sacred Ground walking and spirituality app, where guided reflections honor Native history and local landscapes. Led by a Sonoma County pastor, the program offers monthly field trips and app-based tours across sites like Sugarloaf, Sonoma Overlook Trail, Tolay Lake, Bodega Head and Armstrong Redwoods, blending nature, Indigenous history and calls to environmental action.
