• Former cop takes commanding lead in Fresno County District 4 race. Latest tally (fresnobee.com) — Kingsburg voters are represented in the Fresno County District 4 supervisor race, where former Sheriff Margaret Mims holds a strong early lead while Kingsburg resident Charlie Soto trails the field. The six-way contest could still head to a November runoff if Mims’ vote share drops below 50% plus one as more ballots are counted.

• Stone fruit thief in Fresno County caught with meth pipe, deputies say (yourcentralvalley.com) — Deputies say a woman was arrested near Kingsburg after allegedly driving out of a Fresno County nectarine orchard with a crate of fruit in her trunk. The sheriff’s office reports she was stopped near Zediker and Rose avenues and also found with a meth pipe. She now faces crop theft and drug paraphernalia charges, along with outstanding warrants.

• Operation 'Hands Down' Targets Organized Criminal Activity in the Central Valley - California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (cslea.com) — Kingsburg residents should know their local police department joined a major multiagency crackdown on gang activity across Fresno, Tulare, and Madera counties, resulting in dozens of arrests and weapons seizures. State and federal partners say the coordinated effort disrupted organized criminal networks and prevented several planned violent crimes, aiming to improve safety in Central Valley communities, including Kingsburg.
