Author Shares Story at One City, One Book Event
Zoe Ferraris and her book "Finding Nouf" were the featured pick of the city's eighth annual event.

Some of La Cañada Flintridge's well-read residents gathered Sunday to learn more about author Zoe Ferraris and her book Finding Nouf, which was selected by more than 19 committee members for the eighth annual One City, One Book author event.
More than 50 residents sat for at least an hour inside the LAUSD School Board room on Cornishon to listen to Mark Salzman, facilitator, author and resident of La Cañada, lead an informative discussion with the American-born Ferraris about her life living in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
She was only 21, with a new husband and baby, when they arrived after the first Gulf War. Ferraris shared with Salzman and the audience how the experience of living in a conservative Muslim community inspired her to write The City of Veils and Finding Nouf.
