Blog: Spring Cleaning Can Benefit the Community Center

Before tossing unused sport equipment, art supplies, or that extra can-opener - check with the Community Center of LCF first. All donations are tax-deductible!

When you start to think about spring cleaning please think about the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge.  The Center offers year-round programs and is in need of many items that you may toss out.  The wish list includes: sports equipment – baseball bats, gloves, helmets, soccer shin guards, tennis rackets, and basketballs.  In conjunction with Assist Athletics, the Center offers t-ball, basketball, flag football, tennis, and soccer.  “Outgrown or no-longer-used equipment can really help bolster our programs and save the Center from purchasing new items,” remarked Amanda Balcazar, Programs Director.  “We have a feeling there are garages full of unused sports equipment that would really benefit the Community Center,” she added.

Kitchen equipment ranks high on the wish list.  Kitchen towels, pot holders, cookie sheets, food processors, pots and pans with lids, and paper goods would significantly add to the limited culinary supplies at the Center.   We have weekly cooking classes for our preschoolers and additional and updated equipment would be a wonderful supplement.

Not sure what to do with unused gift cards?  The Community Center can utilize gift cards to hardware stores, HomeGoods, Target, sporting good stores, and grocery stores.  Call the Community Center at 818/790-4353 if you have questions about donations.  All donations are tax-deductible and receipts can be provided.
