iPhone Swiped by Fedora-Wearing Suspect

According to the incident report, at 4 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, a man wearing a white fedora entered the AT&T store at 895 Foothill Blvd. and purused the store's phone selections. Two employees working at the time noted the man checking out iPhones. Reportedly startled when one employee called out a name, the fedora-wearing man then allegedly rushed past the employees and out the store's door while carrying an iPhone he did not purchase. According to the report, the alleged suspect then ran down Foothill Boulevard and out of view.

Deputies noted that the reportedly stolen phone's serial number was made avaialble as well as video surveillance footage from the store. The suspected iPhone thief is described as a white male, aged 25 to 30, approximately 5'7" and 160 pounds, with black hair.  According to the report, he wore a long sleeve, button-down shirt, gray trousers, white shoes and a white fedora. The iPhone is valued at $750.

Skids Swiped From Trader Joe's Lot

On Monday, August 8, Trader Joe's managment reported to deputies that a number of skids - platforms used to elevate merhcandise and inventory above the ground - were taken from the store's parking lot at 475 Foothill Blvd. A customer provided store management with the description and license plate number of a vehicle seen parked near where the skids had last been stored. The skids are valued at $160.

Residential Burglary

A resident in the 5300 block of Angeles Crest Highway reportedly returned home on the afternoon of Monday, August 8, to find the master bedroom, guest room, and office of her home ransacked. The home's kitchen door and threshold were damaged. Deputies noted that a custom-made gold bracelet was the only item reported stolen despite currency, cameras, and laptops located in clear view inside the home. Deputies witheld from the report the value of the bracelet.

Two Cars' Windows Smashed, One Petty Theft

Sometime between 8 p.m. Monday, August 8 and 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, an Audi station wagon parked in the 4700 block of Oakwood Avenue had its front driver's side window smashed with an unkown object. The vehicle's owner noted that nothing appeared taken from inside the car.

On the same day and in the same block, a resident reported that the front passenger window of his Jetta shattered and $4 in coins stolen from inside.  The victim was able to provide video surveillance to deputies, who also noted in the report that fingerprints were recovered from the car.
