The following reports were taken from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, Crescenta Valley Station.

Deputies smelled marijuana emanating from the truck as they spoke to driver Joshua Nickolas White, a 24-year old male resident of Pasadena. According to the report, White admitted that he had marijuana in his backpack, and also offered that he wasn’t selling and didn’t have baggies or a scale. Deputies then searched White and recovered $216 in miscellaneous denominations from his pocket. A search of the backpack and car resulted in 5 baggies of marijuana, 2 bottles of Carisopodrol, 2 bottles of Alprazolam, a bottle of Methadone, 6 individually wrapped marijuana cookies, and 6 individually wrapped marijuana pastries.
Deputies reported locating a notebook containing “pay and owe” information as well as viewing a text message on White’s phone referencing the sale of a quarter pound of marijuana.

According to the report, White told deputies that he had picked up the marijuana from a dispensary and it totaled about 2.5 ounces. He also confirmed that the baked goods contained marijuana. The pills, White stated, were for treatment of a medical condition. White reportedly said that the pay and owe sheet belonged to a drug dealer.
White was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession for sale of marijuana, transportation of marijuana over one ounce, and possession of marijuana over one ounce.
Drunk in public
At 4:05 p.m. on April 4, deputies found William Pluma Barrios, a 54-year-old male resident of La Cañada, laying on the ground behind a park bench at Foothill Boulevard and Gould Avenue, not cooperating with LA County Fire personnel attempting to treat him. Deputies noted that Barrio had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. Seven empty 12-ounce cans of Trader Joe’s Simple Times lager were nearby. Barrios admitted that he had been drinking.
Barrios, unable to stand on his own, was transported to Verdugo Hills Hospital for treatment of a pre-existing eye wound and then booked.
Nighttime Burglary?
On Friday, April 1, deputies responded to a burglary in progress call at a residence in the 1000 block of Fairview Drive. A 13-year-old girl claimed that she awoke in the night to someone tampering with the screen on her bedroom window, left open due the day’s heat. Approximately three minutes later, she sat up to see a man in dark clothing standing at the foot of her bed. Realizing the man was not her mother, the girl screamed and the suspect fled her room, closing the door behind him. After hearing the man run out of the house and a car speed away, she alerted her mother, who called 9-1-1.
Deputies noted that no evidence of tampering with the window could be found, saw no footprints, and nothing was reported missing or out of place. A neighbor preparing to leave for work outside did note that he had been awakened by the sound of footsteps outside his own bedroom window.
Double Vehicle Trouble
Two separate incidents reported the morning of April 1 by residents in the 4500 block of Castle Road involved thieves entering vehicles. A male victim reported a GPS system stolen from the glove compartment of his unlocked mini van some time during the previous night. During the same time period, the passenger window of a female resident’s Pontiac Grand Am was smashed and her purse, sitting on the center console, stolen. The purse contained a wallet, credit cards, a checkbook, and the victim’s license. Both vehicles were parked on the street at the time of the incidents.
Nabbed Knapsack
At 10 a.m. on April 3, a resident of the 900 block of Valley crest Street reported a backpack stolen from his unlocked vehicle parked in his driveway. The backpack contained textbooks and class rosters for Pasadena City College, including contact information and the victim’s social security number.
