Crime Blotter: Possible Casing Leads to Burglary

Home Burglary
A 54-year-old resident told deputies that, for two days, a white pickup truck would follow himwhen he would leave home. The car would trail him for a few blocks, then turn out of sight.

A few days later, between 10 a.m. and noon, someone broke into his house in the 5300 block of Palm Drive.
The resident reported that a $500 double-pane glass window measuring approximately 2 feet by 3 feet was broken. According to the report, the victim arrived home to find that his son’s bedroom window was smashed.

Upon entering the house, the victim noticed that his son’s PlayStation 3 video game console was missing. Additionally, the report states, the victim’s other two sons' rooms were ransacked, as well as the master bedroom. Drawers were opened and clothes were found strewn on the floor. The report does not confirm the value or amount of any stolen jewelry.
“Hard Rock” Mountain Bike Stolen
A 60-year-old man reported that his $400 black and silver specialized “Hard Rock” mountain bike was stolen from inside his garage on Noren Street at 11 a.m. on Feb. 25. According to the report, the bicycle was located inside his garage leaning against the wall and was stolen during a period when the garage door was left open. Nothing else was reported missing, and there were no apparent witnesses.
