La Canadan of the Year Luncheon Scheduled for Wednesday

Terry Walker will be recognized for her contributions to the community.

Terry Walker will be honored as the La Canadian of the Year for 2012 by the Kiwanis Club of La Cañada on Wednesday, May 2.

Walker currently serves as the Centennial Year Co-Chair. She has been involved in the activities of the Chamber of Commerce since 1997. She has also served in other community leadership roles, such as the City Public Works, the Green Task Force, and the City of La Cañada Flintridge Solid Waste Subcommittee.

Other notable awards she has received include the La Cañada Businesswoman of the Year in 2008.

A resident of La Cañada Flintridge for the past 31 years, Walker believes she’s been lucky to work and live in the city. Before living in La Cañada Flintridge, she grew up in Sherman Oaks and attended Louisville High School. During her junior year, she moved to Corona del Mar and graduated from Corona del Mar High school. She then attended the University of California, Los Angeles and graduated with a degree in psychology. She and her husband raised two sons in La Cañada Flintridge.

Walker will be recognized at the Kiwanis club’s weekly meeting on Wednesday during the club’s weekly meeting at Van de Kamp Hall at Descanso Gardens.
